A man listed by the State of Montana as a non-compliant sex offender was arrested in Missoula on Saturday after neighbors reported hearing a loud fight.

"It happened in the 1500 block of Cooley Street, at about 7:30 on Saturday, October 21, officers were called to the report of a disturbance involving a male and a female," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "One caller reported hearing a female yelling for help, officers arrived and learned that the female involved in the disturbance was not on scene, however she was located a short distance away on foot."

The suspect was identified talking to two neighbors outside of the home where the fight occurred and an arrest was made after officers spoke with all parties involved.

"The initial investigation revealed that there had been an assault, in fact the victim reported that the male had strangled her at one point, struck her around the head and kicked her in the back. He is identified as 40-year-old Adrian Paradise," Welsh said.

Paradise is facing a felony charge for strangulation as well as a misdemeanor charge for unlawful restraint and another for a second partner or family member assault charge. The Montana Sexual and Violent Offender Registry lists Paradise as a Tier one sex offender who is non-compliant because of an overdue address verification.
