Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On October 26th, 2022, Missoula Probation and Parole located 33-year-old Lawrence Daniels near Taco Bell on North Reserve Street. Law Enforcement was attempting to locate him because he had a no bond warrant for a parole violation. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold explains.

“The Missoula Police Department was contacted by Missoula Probation and Parole,” Arnold said. “Daniels was wanted for multiple probation violations and probation spotted Daniels in a vehicle. When Missoula Police Department officers made contact with Daniels, Daniels sped off and evaded law enforcement. In the process, Daniels hit a vehicle and later exited the vehicle, leaving some clothing items and drugs behind.”

On October 28th, 2022 an officer learned that Daniels was in the area of Cabela's on South Reserve Street and a person matching his description was located near the Five on Black restaurant.

“Daniels was compliant and taken into custody safely,” Arnold said. “During the incident, drugs were located that showed a presumptive positive for methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl pills were located. This case is still under investigation with the Missoula Police Department.”

According to court documents, Daniels was found to be in possession of 4.01 grams of methamphetamine. It was also reported that Daniels was driving a rental car since his truck had been seized for evidence after being located on October 26th. Daniels’ probation officer was able to locate the vehicle. The probation officer told MPD they had located Daniels’ MT ID card inside the vehicle.

The probation officer also located another small plastic bag of methamphetamine. Also inside the vehicle was a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine, a cut straw, tin foil, and two blue M 30 pills.

The officer reported that the two pills are sometimes referred to as "blues" and they are typically Fentanyl pills. These pills are disguised as Oxycodone with the markings "M 30" on them. The two bags of crystalline substance and the two M 30 pills will be sent to the MT State Crime lab for Chemical Analysis.

Daniels is currently being charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
