Deputies Respond to Shots Fired Call in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 25, 2024, at approximately 2:17 AM, Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call for shots fired. According to Public Information Officer Jeannette Smith, the call for service was later reclassified as Criminal Endangerment.
"Energy crews responding to hazards from last night’s storm were working in the 100 block of River Pines Road when a vehicle drove through downed trees in the roadway and crashed into a nearby tree," Smith said. "The vehicle was still operational, and the driver left the scene. A few seconds later reports of shots fired and bullets near the location of the energy crews were reported, with at least one bullet striking the responder's vehicle."
Due to video taken at the scene, Smith said the male suspect has been identified and taken into custody.
Smith added that this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing public safety risk.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. We will provide more information when it becomes available.
