University of Montana Family Weekend Includes Haunted Building Tour [AUDIO]
Participants in the University of Montana family weekend, Friday through Sunday, October 18 through 20, will enjoy a host of activities, including a haunted building tour on campus.
Event coordinator Andrea Lewis said the entire weekend is a chance for families of UM students to connect with the campus and its many activities.
"Families will be coming to the campus after their student has had a chance to settle in a little bit, and get a flavor of what life at UM is all about," Lewis said. "On Friday, parents will be able to attend some classes with their student, plus we have a really fun social event planned at Spectrum discovery area in downtown Missoula, They are opening their doors for families to make a liquid nitrogen slushy. There will be lots of activities prior to the football game on Saturday, as well."
Lewis said the haunted building tour was a real hit last year, so it's coming back even bigger and better.
"This year it's really special because we were able to bring in the UM Players, a student theater group, who will be acting out some stories in two books," Lewis said. "The first is called 'Montana Chillers' and the second is called 'Montana Ghost Stories'. The tour will include four on-campus buildings, Main Hall, Rankin Hall, Brantley Hall and the George and Jane Dennison Theater, featuring some spooky events that have been described in these books."
Lewis said these activities are solely for participants registered for the family weekend. Over 1,200 people are expected on campus for the family weekend activities.
