Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 4:23 p.m. on February 11, 2026, a Missoula Police Department Officer responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting that a BMW was parked in the Albertson’s parking lot on Broadway. The caller reported that a male was passed out behind the wheel and that drug paraphernalia was in plain view. The caller also provided a license plate and a description of the vehicle.

The officer arrived on scene and located the vehicle. She observed 37-year-old Koan Davis, with whom she was familiar from prior interactions, slumped over in the driver’s seat with a methamphetamine pipe and torch lighter in his lap. Davis woke up when the officer knocked on the window. Then the officer asked Davis if he needed medical attention, but he declined.

Within the vehicle, the officer observed multiple pieces of tinfoil, one with burnt residue, and a blue “tooter” straw on the front driver’s side floorboard. Both of these are consistent, in her training and experience, with methamphetamine paraphernalia.

A short time later, the officer performed a warrant search of the vehicle. During that search, the officer located the above-described tinfoil and methamphetamine pipe, three small plastic bags with apparent drug residue, black tubing with apparent burn markings, alcohol prep pads, two glass tubes with residue, numerous “tooter” straws, and .45 grams of a substance which appeared to be methamphetamine, and which a TruNarc scan indicated was methamphetamine.
