University of Montana President Seth Bodnar will be in San Francisco this week to speak to the massive Dreamforce Conference in San Francisco.

UM Communications Director Paula Short said the conference starts on Wednesday.

“Dreamforce is the annual training and professional development convention that is run by Salesforce, a major software company in the business world,” said Short. “The President is traveling there to co-present with ATG A Cognizant Company, and he’ll be talking about how universities can help develop talent for companies.”

Short provided more details of Bodnar’s presentation.

“He’ll be using a few examples, one of which is the collaboration between the University and ATG Cognizant, and its called AIM, that’s ‘All in Missoula’ which is a 12-week paid training program with UM, ATG Cognizant and Salesforce as well. Upon completion of that course, participants have the opportunity to interview for jobs with ATG Cognizant here in Missoula.”

Short said the scope of the Dreamforce Conference is enormous.

“They have an incredible line-up of speakers, and they estimate that over 170,000 people come to San Francisco for this four-day event with about 2,700 sessions and the lineup of speakers includes Megan Rapinoe, the World Cup soccer player, as well as Ken Cook from Apple, former President Barack Obama will speak, as well as a whole host of other business leaders.”

Short said the conference is an excellent opportunity for President Bodnar to promote the University of Montana at this prestigious event.
