Hamilton's popular Dog Park will have more shade in a few years with two new trees planted in observance of Arbor Day Friday. under the curious gaze of a few dogs, the trees were planted by the Public Works Department with the help of McNeill's Tree Service.

The Friday afternoon planting included the reading of Hamilton's proclamation of Arbor Day and a poem written by Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf, read at the ceremony by councilperson Claire Kemp.

An hour later, Arbor Day trees were planted at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds. The three trees were planted in the northern area of the Fairgrounds in Mandy Park, where many children's activities have been held during the annual Ravalli County Fair. By the way, a "Meet and Greet" of the new Fairgrounds Manager Melissa Saville will be Tuesday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the fairgrounds. RSVP is appreciated at the fairgrounds office - 363-3411 or email bperkins@rc.mt.gov.
