Tribal Company Wins Aerospace Contract

A company owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes has been awarded a nearly $1 billion U.S. Air Force contract.

S&K Technologies CEO Tom Acevedo tells the Missoulian that S&K Aerospace landed the $975 million contract. While most of the money will be used to purchase and repair military equipment for 83 nations, S&K Aerospace will make between $40 million and $50 million for overseeing the program for the next five years.

S&K is the prime contractor and will partner with Parts and Repair Technical Services of Stockbridge, Ga., and General Dynamics Information Technology of Fairfax, Va., to provide equipment, maintenance, logistical, technical and support services for the military hardware.

URS Corp., headquartered in San Francisco, held the federal contract for the past 10 years.
