Our news partners at NBC Montana are reporting that a Montana family is asking for support after their son was killed in a tragic boating accident on Friday.

The family said 3-year-old Landon Haight was fishing with his father at Canyon Ferry Lake, when a metal boat dock-ramp fell over and crushed him.

They said someone on scene began CPR, but was unable to get a pulse until Landon was halfway to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

When Landon arrived, the family said he was put on life-support and had almost no brain function. He later died.

The family plans to donate his organs to help other children in need. They said they're facing massive medical bills after airlifting Landon to Spokane on Life-Flight.

The family has set up a Go-Fund-Me page to help with medical and funeral costs.
