The Effect of Fuel Prices on Tourism

How high would gas prices have to go before you would change your summer travel plans? The Institute for Tourism Research recently asked that question of Montana tourists and the average answer turns out to be $4.41. KGVO news spoke with the Director of the Institute for Tourism Research, Norma Nickerson about the results of that study and here's what she had to say.

National gas prices were falling earlier in the week, but it's impossible to know for sure if they'll stay on the decline. The lower they fall, the larger the chance that more tourism dollars end up in Montana pockets.
