With flood waters inundating several homes in the Missoula area, Missoula County Disaster and Emergency Services announced on Tuesday that Christ the King Church has been opened as a temporary evacuation shelter for those families displaced by flooding.

Crews from Frenchtown Fire District and Missoula Rural Fire responded to an early Saturday morning fire that totally destroyed a manufactured home and add-on structures in the Petty Creek area.

The Missoula Fire Department responded in the early morning hours on Tuesday to an apartment complex located at 115 Turner Court for smoke coming from the bathroom.

A fire that was called in to 9-1-1 just after midnight on Sunday morning, caused over $75,000 in damage to one unit of a four-plex , and sent the occupant of the apartment to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A group home in the Rattlesnake area was badly damaged from a dropped cigarette.
