A community group 'Supporters of a Public Bitterroot Resort' announced Thursday that the U. S. Forest Service has once again rejected their proposal to build a world-class resort near Lolo.
Four conservation groups have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service in federal court seeking to halt a 2,038-acre logging plan contained in a restoration project for the Lolo National Forest about 10 miles north of Seeley Lake.
Officials in western Montana say they have removed an estimated 3,000 marijuana plants and an extensive drip irrigation system from a growing operation spotted during aerial surveillance of the Lolo National Forest.

Firefighters and two tanker helicopters were dispatched to the Ambrose Saddle Fire about 12 miles east of Stevensville on the Lolo National Forest. The fire was first reported late yesterday afternoon. The fire is burning actively and additional resources are being ordered to suppress the fire.
