It's National Inventors Month this month. Montana hasn't been left out, as one of the most amazing medical inventions of all time came from a doctor from Helena.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — A private jet apparently experiencing mechanical trouble crashed Sunday in a northern Indiana neighborhood, striking three homes, authorities and witnesses said.

Authorities say an 11-year-old girl died after she was hit by a car on an Interstate 15 onramp in Helena. Lewis and Clark County Coroner Mickey Nelson says Haile Barrett of Helena was walking with a friend across the two-lane onramp at 11th Avenue when she was struck at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. She died at a local hospital about 45 minutes later.

Police are looking for a man who was involved in the armed robbery of a Helena pharmacy. Lt. Corey Livesay says the suspect, a middle-aged white man with a stocking over his face, entered Bergum Drug on Winne Avenue with a gun just before 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and prescription medication.

Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a Helena restaurant at gunpoint. Police Chief Troy McGee says the suspect entered the Suds Hut Famous Chicken on North Montana Avenue at about 12:15 a.m. Monday with a handgun in one hand and a duffel bag in the other and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities say a 21-year-old woman who was reported missing in Montana has been arrested after leading police on a short chase and hitting a squad car in southern Minnesota.

A 53-year-old Helena man has been convicted of his 12th DUI offense. A jury deliberated for about three hours Wednesday before finding Charles R. Horton guilty of the felony.

A Butte man has turned himself over to Veterans Affairs officials after a two-hour standoff with police outside his home. Butte police officers arrived at the man's home Monday night after receiving a report from Veterans Affairs that he was armed and threatening to hurt himself.
