The Reynolds Creek Fire burning on the east side of Glacier National Park has expanded rapidly over the last three and a half days to over 4,000 acres in size.
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service has given an historic advisory council until late September to weigh in on a proposal by a Louisiana company to drill for natural gas near Glacier National park.
The Reynolds Creek Fire is now over 1,000 acres on the east side of Glacier National Park. Another fire near Townsend is causing evacuations and closing roads in the area.
There are wildfires burning Tuesday afternoon in two western Montana locations. One in Glacier National Park and the other in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness area.
Glacier National Park had record high visitation last year, and Park Public Information officer Denise Germann says this year is shaping up to be even better.
