Montana families can fish for free on two special days, making summer outings easier and more memorable.

In some states, it's a thrilling summer pastime, while in others, it’s strictly off-limits. What drives this wave of hand fishing?

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is advising anglers that portions of the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Clark Fork, Madison, Ruby and Sun rivers, as well as the Jefferson River and Silver Bow Creek in their entirety, will be closed to all fishing daily from 2 p.m. to midnight, effective at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10. The restrictions will stay in effect until conditions improve.

Fishing in Yellowstone National Park comes with unique rules and regulations. If you catch three types of fish in certain areas the Park, you're required to kill them.
