Last year the  Missoula Fire Department was able to raise $22,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) with their “Fill the Boot” fundraiser. Fundraising coordinator for the MDA, Kate Kroker says they have had a longstanding relationship with the Missoula Fire Department for 56 years.

Firefighters have the Ambrose Saddle Fire east of Stevensville fifty percent contained. Approximately sixty five firefighters are assigned to the fire, which grew slightly on Tuesday to fifteen acres.

Firefighters and two tanker helicopters were dispatched to the Ambrose Saddle Fire about 12 miles east of Stevensville on the Lolo National Forest. The fire was first reported late yesterday afternoon. The fire is burning actively and additional resources are being ordered to suppress the fire.
