Suspect In Shooting Near White House Arrested
The U.S. Secret Service says a man from Idaho has been arrested in connection with an investigation into a shooting near the White House.
The Secret Service discovered Tuesday that two bullets had hit the White House, one of them apparently cracking a window on the residential level while President Barack Obama was traveling.
The Secret Service says 21-year-old Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez of Idaho Falls was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Pennsylvania authorities at a hotel near Indiana, Pa. They say a tip from someone who saw and identified Ortega led to his arrest.
On Friday, U.S. Park Police investigating a report of shots fired near the president's house found a car connected to Ortega and an assault rifle.
Idaho Falls Police say Ortega's family reported him missing Oct. 31.
