St. Patrick Hospital Presents Their Annual Heart Expo Next Week
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Saturday, April 6 will be the day you’ll want to be at Missoula’s Providence St. Patrick Hospital early in the morning to take advantage of their annual Heart Expo.
I spoke with Debra Sybrant, Physician Assistant in Cardiology at the Providence Heart Institute, located inside St. Patrick's Hospital, about the annual event.
The Annual Heart Expo at St. Pats Always Draws a Big Crowd.
“The Heart Expo this year is going to be held on Saturday, April 6 at Providence St. Patrick's Hospital,” began Sybrant. “We're going to hold that in our Broadway Building Conference Center on the first floor. It's free to the public. The Heart Expo, for someone who has never attended, is an opportunity to come and listen to the latest techniques therapies, and treatment options that we have here to offer from our cardiovascular services and cardiology services right here at St. Patrick's Hospital.”
Sybrant said in addition to the important lectures at the Heart Expo, what attracts the biggest crowd is the opportunity to get reduced-cost blood draws.
Blood Draws for Lab Work will be Offered at a Reduced Cost
“Another nice opportunity for the community members who attend are the blood draws and those start at 7:00 a.m. and they go until 11:00 a.m.,” she said. “When I say a ‘blood draw’, that means that you can specify what kind of lab work you'd like done and then you pay for that either with a check or with cash. Some examples might be a cholesterol panel, a blood sugar check, hemoglobin A1C, a thyroid check, and a PSA check.”

Sybrant even laid out the reduced fees for each lab test.
Important to know that it is Cash or Check Only for the Lab Work
“The cholesterol panel is $15.00,” she said. “The blood sugar check is $10:00; a hemoglobin A1C, and for those people who don't know what that is, it averages your blood sugar over a couple of months that's $15.00. The thyroid check is $20.00, and a PSA which is a prostate check, where the lab work is $20.00 as well, and those are the tests that we're offering.”
Cash or Check only for the blood draws. No credit or debit cards will be accepted.
The health lectures will run from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
