Remains found on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in December 2018 are not those of any missing Native American women that have been reported missing.

Sandra Barker, Public Information Officer with the FBI office in Salt Lake City provided details on Friday.

“Back in December, some remains were found on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation,” said Barker. “We sent those remains to the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia for analysis, and that investigation has been completed.”

Barker said the remains are far too old to be of anyone recently reported missing.

“We’ve found out that the remains are of probable historic or ancient origin,” she said. “We also found out that the exam estimated that the remains are probably those of a Native American male between 45 and 60 years of age. We don’t know the cause of death due to the extreme age of the remains.”

Hearings were held in Washington, D.C. in December in which Senator Steve Daines introduced Kimberly Loring-Heavy Runner, whose sister Ashley is still missing.
