Residents Can Get Assistance From Missoula County To Remove Sandbags
Missoula County Public Works Department officials are offering assistance to residents with the process of disposing sandbags that were used in fighting flood waters. Residents are asked to remove all material in each bag and seperate the material and bags into different piles at the Tower Street staging area where sandbags were being filled during the flooding event.
Residents are strongly encouraged to use the site only for disposal of empty sandbags and sand. Missoula County Public Works officials will remove the sand and Allied Waste will remove the empty sandbags beginning July 28th.
County officials will monitor the Tower Street location to ensure only sand and empty sandbags are deposited on the site. “A private land owner has been kind enough to offer this site to help residents in the area and facilitate this clean up effort,” says Public Works Director Greg Robertson. “It’s important that we respect his property.”
