Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On April 9, 2023, Missoula Police Department dispatch received calls about a male using his pickup truck to intentionally “ram” into another vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart on Mullan Road. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the described vehicle and performed a stop. The driver of the vehicle identified himself as 38-year-old Ryan Woodcock.

According to court documents, officers observed clear signs that Woodcock’s vehicle had recently been in a collision. Officers observed broken shards of auto-glass on the hood and bumper of Woodcock's vehicle, even though none of the windows on the pickup appeared broken.

Officers also noticed the license plate was bent in several places as though it had been involved in a crash. Additionally, officers observed there was a cracked passenger headlight and light-colored paint transfer along with damage to the front passenger quarter.

An officer reviewed the surveillance video from Walmart. In the video, the officer observed Woodcock’s blue Ford pickup parked next to a silver vehicle. The silver vehicle was occupied by a female in the driver's seat. The video shows Woodcock back up his pickup and then drive head-on into the driver's side of the silver vehicle two separate times.

According to the officer, it appeared Woodcock turned his pickup to intentionally strike the driver door of the silver car twice, which could very likely have caused injury to the female driver seated inside. Another officer spoke with Woodcock, who stated he'd gotten angry at the female and "couldn't control" himself. Shortly thereafter, Woodcock stated he no longer wished to speak with law enforcement about this incident.

Officers placed Woodcock under arrest. During the search incident to arrest, an officer located a small metal pipe with a blue rubber end piece. Officers recognized this pipe to be a type of pipe used to ingest narcotics. Additionally, while observing the vehicle, an officer discovered a needle in plain view.

Woodcock is currently being charged with felony assault with a weapon and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
