Playoff Pairings Announced

Earlier today the Montana High School Association announced the times and dates for the Class AA boys' and girls' basketball playoff games.

While Class A, B and C teams decide their state tournament participants with District and Divisional tournaments, Class AA teams compete in a series of one-game playoffs to determine the state tourney field.

There are seven teams in both the Eastern AA and Western AA conferences. The top seed from each conference automatically advances to state, while the remaining six battle it out in a true win-or-go-home scenario.

So let's take a look at the playoff matchups, starting with the boys.

EASTERN AA:

#1 Bozeman (18-2) bye

#7 Butte (0-20) at #2 Billings West (15-5) Friday 7:00 PM

#6 Great Falls (12-8) at #3 Billings Skyview (13-7) Friday 7:00 PM

#5 Billings Senior (13-7) at #4 Great Falls CMR (13-7) Friday 6:00 PM

WESTERN AA:

#1 Kalispell Glacier (14-6) bye

#7 Helena (3-17) at #2 Missoula Hellgate (14-6) Thursday 7:00 PM

#6 Missoula Big Sky (5-15) at #3 Missoula Sentinel (11-9) Friday 7:00 PM

#5 Helena Capital (8-12) at #4 Kalispell Flathead (9-10) Friday 7:00 PM
