Patriot Act Makes It Through Senate
Senator Jon Tester was one of only a handful of senators who opposed extending the Patriot Act law for 3 months. Tester is a longtime critic of the Patriot Act, which gives the government broad power to collect information like personal library records. Tester says the Patriot Act invades privacy of law-abiding Americans – who should never give up their constitutional rights.
The Senate passed the extension of the Patriot Act 86 to 12.
