N. Idaho Miner Dies After Accident In Lucky Friday
Officials say a 26-year-old miner injured in an accident at the Lucky Friday Mine in northern Idaho died Saturday morning.
Officials say Brandon Lloyd Gray of Kellogg died as a result of injuries sustained on Thursday night at the silver mine near Mullan, Idaho. Officials did not release the exact cause of death or where he died.
Gray worked for a mine contracting company called Cementation U.S.A. Inc. that specializes in mine development.
The company says Gray was working about a mile underground in a mining shaft that was being excavated when he was trapped in falling rock. Federal authorities are investigating.
The death is the second at the Lucky Friday in less than a year. In April, 53-year-old Larry Marek of Kingston, Idaho, died in a cave-in.
