Monday, the public can hear a review of the new West Fork River Recreation Plan at a Hamilton meeting. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks worked with local community members to come up with a way to lessen overcrowding on the upper West Fork of the Bitterroot River. The rules were put in place for 2018 and FWP collected and analyzed the data. According to Bitterroot Trout Unlimited, the FWP review has been developed by Chrissy Oschell and will include the data results and the number of outfitted trips on that part of the river. Members of the original advisory group have been notified and the public is invited.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday, January 7, and is planned for the Bitterroot National Forest Supervisors Office on the north end of Hamilton. However, with the federal government shutdown, that location may be moved.
