Just after 10:00 Tuesday night, a Missoula police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2000 block of West Broadway. According to Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, there were three individuals in the vehicle.

“He identified the driver and occupants as 22-year-old Catherine Field, 34-year-old Roosevelt Thompson, and 26-year-old Lakita Farmer,” Welsh said. “The officers developed suspicion that the three had been involved in recent crimes. They also learned that two of the three were on probation and that the information discovered at the time of the stop was enough to place them under arrest for outstanding warrants and probation violations.”

Welsh says officers continued their investigation and developed probable cause to make additional arrests.

“They also discovered that the vehicle contained a substance that was later determined to be methamphetamine,” Welsh said. “All three were arrested and taken to jail. They are currently being held on charges related to probation violations, warrants, drug possession and weapons possession. Mr. Thompson had previously been convicted of a felony and was not allowed to be in possession of a handgun.”

As a result, Thompson is currently being held on a felony charge for carrying a concealed weapon. Field and Farmer were arrested for criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
