The average price of gas in Montana is pegged at about $3.74 per gallon. That's the exact same price Montanans were looking at four weeks ago, but there may be good news just around the corner. According to Gas Buddy Petroleum Analyst, Patrick Dehaan, a few gas pumps in Helena are already starting to dip into the $3.50 range and pump prices in Great Falls and Bozeman are starting to fall as well. The national average is at $3.56, well below what most Montanans are paying. Dehaan says that prices are falling quickly on the west coast and that it shouldn't be too long before the Rocky Mountain region starts to see the decline as well.

In the following interview, DeHaan discusses how quickly we can expect to see the prices fall in Montana and gives some insight into how gas stations use falling prices to make more money. DeHaan also discusses why gas prices fall in some cities before others.
