Montana Tech's athletic director has resigned after about three months on the job.

A three-sentence statement by school officials Saturday says David Lau resigned to return to Missouri for personal family reasons.

Lau quit on Friday.

The statement said the school would provide additional information on the athletic department's administration next week.

Lau had been assistant director of athletics for development at Missouri Western University.

He replaced Charles Bradley, who was fired in January.
