The student Senate at Montana State University has censured the student president for her drunken driving arrest.

The student Senate also demanded that Gwynn Simeniuk give up her free spring tuition but stopped short of asking for her resignation.

Simeniuk tells the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that she respects the Senate's vote and plans to comply with the Senate's demand by asking officials how she can forfeit her spring tuition waiver.

MSU spokesman Tracy Ellig says a tuition waiver would be worth $2,665 for one semester's tuition for a student from Montana.

The 21-year-old Simeniuk was arrested 3 a.m. Aug. 16 after a city police officer saw her car parked and running on the sidewalk.

Her court case is still pending.
