If someone asks you where the most expensive homes in Montana are, you'd likely answer "Bozeman" without question.

     -Even you might be surprised how expensive real estate has become.

Though it's been two years since the pandemic spike, Gallatin County's economy has shown few signs of slowing down, especially with the price of single-family homes.

The Gallatin Association of REALTORS®  2025 Annual Housing Report single-family median home prices have hit a new benchmark of $810,000, climbing beyond the previous record of $785,000 in 2023. And that's even in the face of high interest rates.

-By comparison, Missoula's median home price settled at $566,000 last year.

And while some surrounding areas, like Park County, are also showing the climb in prices, the data shows the gap between the top of the market, in Bozeman, and the lowest in Three Forks, continues to widen.

The report also shows that the price of new condos continued to climb last year, actually passing the sales price for single-family homes.

Missoula Search Update

Missoula County authorities are asking for the public to call them with any information that might help locate a woman whose car was found at a local trailhead north of the city.

Nicole Heimer hasn't been seen since last week. Her car has since been located at the Sawmill Gulch Trailhead on the edge of the Rattlesnake Recreation Area. And although the active search is on hold, authorities are still hoping someone may have a vital clue.

Deportation debate in Whitefish

Protesters are becoming a daily event in Whitefish, where some residents are upset with the arrest and pending deportation of a Venezuelan man that immigration attorneys say is in the U.S. legally.

The Flathead Beacon reports Beker Enrique Rengifo-Del Castillo was arrested during a traffic stop last week and transported by federal officers to a detention center in Tacoma.

     -Members of "Valley Neighbors" have been rallying outside the CBP office demanding his release.
