73% of the counties across Montana and all 7 tribal communities have made flood declarations, since Governor Brian Schweitzer declared a statewide emergency due to flooding. The Montana Food Bank Network (MFMN) responded immediately to requests for emergency food and has already distributed over 18,000 lbs of food and water assistance. The Network’s Chief Operations Officer Brent Weisgram says sister food banks and the national food bank, Feeding America, stepped up to the plate and helped send food right away.

Chief Developing Officer, Kathryn McCleary says being there for people is what the Montana Food Bank Network is all about.

The MFBN is a part of MT Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (MTVOAD) and is actively working to provide emergency food relief to those Montanans who have been hardest hit by the flooding disaster.
