It's been rumored for the last few weeks, but it looks like now it's official: the owners of the Montana Club have purchased the closed-down Perkins location on Reserve Street, with plans to convert it into a new, upscale tap house.

The new place is going to be called The Tap Club, and new owner Bob Powell went into some detail about what he envisions for it: "It’ll have upscale pub fare with a gourmet burger line, good sandwiches and lots of good appetizers. We’ll have 36 beers on tap and feature all the most popular Montana microbrews. There will be lots of TVs, great sound and a very fun, friendly atmosphere."

Sounds good to me! Missoula is overrun with breweries and bars and tap houses, but as Powell notes, Reserve Street is a little underserved when it comes to that stuff. Could be a great spot to dip into on the drive home from work for a lot of people.

Hopefully we'll get to see what it looks like pretty soon. Are you into the idea of another new tap house in Missoula?
