Missoula Man Goes on a Stealing Spree, Dangerously Flees From Police
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 27, 2025, at approximately 12:35 PM, several Missoula Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Bass’s Gun Rack for a report of a theft. 35-year-old Dave Fisher was known to law enforcement and was linked to several other thefts in the Missoula area over the previous 24 hours.
It was reported to dispatch that Fisher had attempted to physically steal a cash register at Bass’s Gun Rack in addition to being suspected of stealing a purse from an individual the evening prior. It was also reported that the suspect had stolen a bicycle that was in front of Zootown Laundry and he was using that same bike to flee.
Officers created a perimeter and began searching the area for Fisher. Soon thereafter, an officer observed Fisher riding a bike in the CVS parking lot on Brooks Street. The officer pursued the male on his patrol motorcycle and told Fisher to stop, but Fisher refused. Fisher continued to flee from officers, hopping over medians and into traffic.
According to court documents, officers noted that Fisher’s flight created a risk of causing physical injury to peace officers or other motorists as during the pursuit, Fisher was performing actions that placed other motorists at risk of a collision amongst other aspects of risk while preventing or attempting to prevent law enforcement from effecting his arrest.
Another officer, who had been in pursuit alongside others, observed Fisher riding towards him. He parked and exited his vehicle to apprehend Fisher and prevent any further danger, considering the busy streets in the middle of the day. The officer brandished his T10 Taser and told Fisher to stop fleeing. Fisher looked at the officer, ignored the command, and continued to flee.
The officer deployed his tase which struck Fisher with both probes. Fisher crashed the bike at the intersection of Bow Street and Strand Avenue. Officers ran up on Fisher and arrested him without further incident. Officers conducted a brief search and discovered a clear glass pipe in Fisher’s pocket. Medical Personnel were called to provide care due to the method of Fisher’s apprehension. He was eventually cleared to be transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility.
