Missoula Garage Fire Threatens Nearby Homes
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at approximately 2:05 p.m., six Missoula Fire Department units were dispatched to a reported garage fire at 2720 Dublin Street. According to A Shift Battalion Chief Troy Ault, callers reported visible smoke and flames at the scene.
“Upon arrival, Unit 141 observed that the garage, a detached structure located behind the residence, was fully engulfed in flames,” Ault said. “Crews accessed the property via the alleyway for the most direct route. Crews from 141 initiated an aggressive exterior fire attack using a rear-mounted 1.5-inch hose line.”
Due to the severity of the fire, which had already compromised the roof and garage door, interior operations were deemed unnecessary and potentially unsafe.

Response Times Were Delayed
“All visible flames were effectively reached from outside the structure,” Ault said. “Narrow streets with parked vehicles made it difficult for crews to access the alleyway, delaying response time. The fire was intense, with heavy smoke and flames causing exterior damage to nearby structures, including melted siding and broken windows.”
Ault said a passenger vehicle adjacent to the garage was also fully involved.
“Flames were rapidly spreading along perimeter fences and threatening nearby homes on all four sides,” Ault said. “Quick, coordinated efforts from all responding units successfully contained the blaze, protected neighboring residences, and prevented further spread. All units participated in salvage and overhaul operations following suppression to ensure complete extinguishment and to mitigate any residual risks.”
