Missoula Drug Bust Uncovers Over Half a Pound of Meth
On March 6, 2022, Missoula Police Department officers learned Cheye Andrade, who had an outstanding felony warrant, was suspected of being at the Broadway Inn. The warrant was for $75,000 with an originating offense of criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute.
An officer made contact with the motel and showed an employee a photo of Andrade. The employee believed the person was in one of the rooms. The officer applied for and obtained a search warrant for the room. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold explains.
“Officers were granted a search warrant based off of the information they had a preliminary investigation they did,” Arnold said. “Officers made contact with Cheye Andrade and Devin Farley inside the hotel room. Officers took them into custody and observed indicators of drug use and distribution of drug paraphernalia in the room.”
During the investigation, an officer saw Andrade go into the bathroom and close the door. Officers ordered Andrade to exit the bathroom several times, but she failed to comply. When the bathroom door opened, an officer observed Andrade at the sink with two syringes in her hand that contained heroin.
The officer observed Andrade appeared to be attempting to empty the substance of the syringes into the sink. There was an opened container on the bathroom counter with several empty syringes and some that contained small amounts of heroin. Andrade and Farley were both taken into custody and transported to the Missoula County Detention Center.
“Officers applied for an additional search warrant for the room and were granted the search warrant,” Arnold said. “During the search of the room, the search yielded numerous items of drug paraphernalia, weapons, and a substance that showed a preliminary presumptive positive for methamphetamine. This case is still under investigation with the Missoula Police Department detectives.”
During the search, officers located $1,470 in cash, several syringes, a stolen handgun, nine blue pills with the marking “M30” that were consistent with fentanyl, and several baggies of methamphetamine and heroin. The total quantity of methamphetamine inside of the hotel room was approximately 255.9 grams.
Andrade is currently being charged with criminal possession with intent to distribute, criminal possession of dangerous drugs, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and unlawful use/possession of property subject to criminal forfeiture.
Farley is currently being charged with criminal possession with intent to distribute, criminal possession of dangerous drugs, unlawful use/possession of property subject to criminal forfeiture, and theft.
On August 1, 2019, Farley was arrested for allegedly selling methamphetamine.
