Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On August 14, 2025, a Missoula Police Department officer responded to the Blue Heron Place for a report of the front door to the apartment building being kicked in. Callers stated the female responsible was suspected to be Brandy Hull.

Upon arrival at the Blue Heron, an officer observed that the front door had a shattered glass pane. Another officer pointed out that Hull was still on scene. The officer verbally addressed the person by saying, "Brandy?". She promptly looked at the officer and dropped the items in her hands. She was positively identified as 48-year-old Brandy Hull.

Hull turned around and placed her hands behind her back. While placing Hull in handcuffs, she made multiple unprovoked admissions to breaking the door, explaining that she was upset and needed somewhere to sleep. The officer placed Hull in the back of a patrol vehicle and advised her of her Miranda rights, to which she verbally confirmed she understood and was willing to answer questions.

The officer asked Hull what happened, and she explained that she had been staying at the Blue Heron with a friend and was just asked to leave today. Hull stated she became upset because she was afraid of not having a place to stay and had been having relationship problems.

Hull explained that as she was walking around the entrance area of the building, she became upset and wanted to go back inside. When she could not easily enter, she kicked the glass door multiple times with her right foot, eventually shattering the glass in the door. According to court documents, Hull added that she had been consuming alcohol prior to this incident.

The officer continued the investigation by conducting a brief search online of various double-pane glass doors, which showed an expected cost for the door alone, between $1,500 and $6,000. Including costs of labor to repair the door, the officer concluded that this incident would cost the Blue Heron to incur expenses in excess of $1,500.

Hull was arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility without further incident. She is currently being charged with felony criminal mischief.
