Providence Set to Open New Missoula Health Center
Midtown Missoula takes a big step in the medical field this month, with the upcoming opening of the new Providence Southgate Health Center.
Dr. Laura Shelton says the new facility will feature both Primary and Urgent Care on Paxson Street, in the Southgate Mall Development next to Bob Ward's.
"We will have primary care," Dr. Shelton explains. "We will have an urgent care facility opened 8 to 8, and we will have general cardiology for our established cardiology patients so they can be seen either here at Southgate or up at the main Providence Hospital."
Dr. Shelton says the $18-million facility is situated to make it easier for residents in the growing Miller Creek and Lolo areas to reach care quickly, without having to drive across Missoula.
Search continues for Great Falls killer
Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter says investigators need the community's help to complete the description of the suspect wanted for murdering a Harlem man on the morning of January 9th.
25-year-old Terrill Johnson died from multiple stab wounds.
Slaughter says detectives have been working to contact residents of the Grandview Plaza Apartments, hoping to track down eyewitnesses or other surveillance that could help identify the suspect from the early morning attack.
Slaughter says even info about the suspect before the killing could be helpful.
Investigators still consider the suspect in a January 9th slaying as a "danger to the community." But he says the department is still working to develop a better description to share with the public.
Fatal crashes continue, even with dry roads
An 18-year old Crow Agency man was killed early Sunday morning, as he was walking on old Highway 87. Montana Highway Patrol says the young man was hit right in the middle of the road, with the car fleeing the scene. However, troopers had since located the driver and passenger in the car and are following up on the investigation.
Meanwhile, in Park County, MHP now says a 67-year-old Billings man was killed in another rollover accident, this time on I-90 near Livingston.
Troopers say the victim lost control of his truck as it veered into the median last week, crossing the opposing lane, through a ditch and a fence, onto a dirt side road before stopping at a tree. The driver was life-flighted to the hospital but died the next day.
'Cats Coach talks of blessing to represent Montana
Bobcats Football Head Coach Brent Vigan says the FCS Championship team felt very fortunate to not only represent MSU in the big game earlier this month, but also to represent the entire state.
🏈 There are 44 Montana players on this year's squad.
"We represent the state far and wide. We got guys from each corner of the state and being able to, on the national stage, do what we did and know how important it is to the great people of this state, Bobcat fans everywhere, is such a blessing to us." -MSU Coach Brent Vigan
Vigan made those comments yesterday during a visit to the Capitol, where Governor Gianforte declared Tuesday "Bobcat Day" in Montana.
