Governor Brian Schweitzer says he will not sign Senate Bill 427, but will allow it to become law anyway. The bill virtually does away with the current Medical Marijuana industry in Montana, reducing it to a ‘grow your own’ enterprise. The bill will become law after 10 days. There are over 30,000 medical marijuana cardholders in the state. After federal raids in March, over 25% of the Medical Marijuana storefront businesses closed their doors. It remains to be seen how many of their employees will be out of work.
