Fifty-four middle and high school students in Missoula County Public Schools (MCPS) will be honored for their special achievement at the “Most Inspiring Students” recognition program at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 28, at Sentinel High School. This special event is sponsored by the Morris and Helen Silver Foundation. Other community organizations partnering in the development of the program include the Exchange Club of Missoula and the Missoula Education Foundation. Each of the 54 students that will receive a Most Inspiring Student award were nominated by teachers and staff for their classroom achievements, outstanding character, and commitment to overcome a variety of challenges in their lives. The award will include an engraved medallion and a certificate of recognition. Karen Allen comments...

“These students are unique,” said MCPS Superintendent Alex P. Apostle. “Each student has worked hard to overcome a difficult challenge and we want them to know that we appreciate their hard work and dedication to staying in school and succeeding.” The students and their families will be honored at a special dinner and awards ceremony. Attendees will hear from Keynote Speaker Mike Halligan, executive director of the Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation.
