At around 2:45 Tuesday afternoon, Missoula Police located a man that had a handful of outstanding warrants for his arrest. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says officers discovered the man possessed something that eventually led to additional charges.

“Officers made contact with 38-year-old Zachary Putman in the 1700 block of Dearborn Avenue,” Welsh said. “They learned that Putman had outstanding warrants and he way placed under arrest. He was transported to the Missoula County Jail where officials there discovered that Putman was in possession of a white powdery substance that later was determined to be methamphetamine.”

According to Welsh, Putman is now facing four separate charges.

“He is currently being held in the jail for his outstanding warrants as well as one charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, which is a felony,” Welsh said. “One appears to be an extra jurisdictional warrant and the two others appear to be misdemeanors from Missoula.”

According to the report, officers located the drugs in Putman’s clothing.
