The driver a car barreling through Missoula early Wednesday morning, ended up receiving a lot more than just a speeding ticket. Police spokesman Travis Welsh explains.

"Just before 2:00 a.m. an officer who was patrolling the Reserve Street Corridor noticed a vehicle approaching his location at a high rate of speed," Welsh said. "The officer documented a speed of 61 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. He did in fact stop the vehicle for speeding and subsequently arrested the driver for DUI: He is identified as Cody Snook."

Mr. Snook apparently wasn’t able to sneak drugs and a weapon past police.

"It was also learned that Mr. Snook had in his possession a small amount of methamphetamine and an illegal knife, illegal due to the length of the blade," Welsh said, "He was subsequently transported to the Missoula Jail where he is currently facing charges for driving while intoxicated, possession of dangerous drugs and carrying a concealed weapon "

Though meth was in the car, the DUI was for alcohol. Welsh says the knife was illegal because it was concealed on Mr. Snook’s person and had a blade that was longer than four inches.
