Montanan Becomes First Woman To Orbit Around The Moon
Once upon a time, there was a whole generation of kids that wanted to go to space. Shows and movies like Star Trek and Star Wars, ET, and others where an inspiration to many.
Of course, things change and now days kids hope to grow up to be influencers and TikTok stars, but that could change, and a former Montana woman might be the reason, but we'll get to that in a minute.
I remember the day very well, I was in middle school and everyone was excited because the first school teach was going into space. We were all gathered around the TV to watch, when only a minute or two into the launch, something appeared to have gone terribly wrong.

Our science teacher quickly shut off the TV and tried to get back to teaching her lesson, but we knew what we had seen and our lives would never be the same.
Of course now days, if someone has the money they can travel in one of these "Celebrity Billionaire" owned rockets and experience space for a couple of minutes, only to return with high media fanfare.
Montana woman to orbit the moon.
So, lets talk about Christina Koch.
Koch, who is part of the Artemis 2 crew that is currently the first lunar mission in 50 years for the United States Space Program is the first woman to orbit the moon. While, she wasn't born in Montana, she did call Livingston home and was living in the town when she was chosen for the program.
Had Christina Koch been to space before the Artemis 2 project?
Koch sit the record for the longest single female spaceflight when she lived in aboard the International Space Station for almost a year back in 2019.
Currently, we have no word if or when Christina Koch will return to Montana, but I would assume if she does, she will be treated to a parade. Have you ever wanted to go to space? Does this latest flight inspire you more?
