Crowning Achievement: Meet the New Miss Rodeo Montana Royalty
"She embodies the spirit of professional rodeo and the western way of life."
That's from part of the introduction on the Miss Rodeo Montana website. And with a state that is set to designate American rodeo as its official state sport, heavy is the head that wears the crown, representing part of the fabric that defines Big Sky Country. And no doubt, our new royalty is up to the challenge.
The Northern Ag Network tells us that the newly-formed Miss Rodeo Montana Pageant Council hosted their first pageant, after assuming ownership of Miss Rodeo Montana, in Billings, March 19-21. Over those three days, the council chose to host a double pageant crowning both the 2025 queens as well as the Ladies in Waiting for 2026.
Allie Allen of Huntley, Montana was crowned as Miss Rodeo Montana 2025. She is the 25-year-old daughter of Christopher Allen of Cody, Wyoming and Kay Lynn Allen of Huntley.
Allie currently gives back to her community through teaching the ins and outs of ranching and aspires to further her education in Public Relations with the hopes of helping nonprofits and rodeo committees with funding.
She owns an AQHA stallion that is the foundation of her breeding program. In addition to being crowned Miss Rodeo Montana 2025, Allen won Congeniality across all divisions as well as the written test, Horsemanship and Top Hand awards for 2025.
Also during the pageant, Bella Jensen of Ekalaka, Montana was crowned Miss Teen Rodeo Montana 2025. Bella is the 17-year-old daughter of Ty and Sarina O’Connor of Ekalaka and Chris Jensen of Spearfish, South Dakota. Bella is a junior at Carter County High School.
Bella enjoys playing on her high school volleyball team, being an active member of FFA, and 4-H where she shows steers, pigs, and sheep. During the summer when she is not on the rodeo road, she runs the grain cart during harvest and rotating cows on her family’s ranch. During rodeo season, she participates in breakaway roping, barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying.
The mission of Miss Rodeo Montana is to be "knowledgeable about the sport of professional rodeo and skilled in horsemanship. She maintains an appropriate appearance, has a charming personality, and is an outstanding public speaker."
