Flights Missoulians Can Take In Bozeman Or Glacier But Not Missoula

The Missoula Montana Airport expanded its services to Oakland and Orange County on a seasonal service last month bringing its destination total to 14. California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Minnesota and more states are covered, but obviously you can't get everywhere you need to go.

Someday Missoula will expand further after the completion of its second terminal, but for now, it is what it is.

If you need to fly outside of the 14 cities in Missoula's rotation, you still have options in the area. It'll take some driving, but Glacier Park International Airport and Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport provide different destinations. Some of the destinations below are only season, so review each airport's website before you book.

Burbank, California (From Glacier & Bozeman - Seasonal)

Though Missoula flies into LAX and Orange County, it doesn't travel to Burbank. Hollywood Burbank Airport is a few miles north of Universal Studios Hollywood in case you want to land closer to Tinseltown.

Houston, Texas (From Glacier & Bozeman - Seasonal)

Houston was on the list of flights MSO should add. If y'all need to fly there NOW you'll have to depart from Glacier or Bozeman.

Austin, Texas (From Bozeman - Seasonal)

Instead of Houston, you can fly into the state capital of Austin. Go get some grade-A barbeque on one of the seasonal flights to Austin.

Nashville, Tennessee (From Bozeman - Year Round)

Of the three party cities (Las Vegas, New Orleans and Nashville), Nashy will be my pick every time. The Music City is a great time.

Atlanta, Georgia (From Bozeman - Year Round)

Hot-Lanta, Georgia is extra hot during the summer months so beware.

Charlotte, North Carolina (From Bozeman - Seasonal)

The Queen City. Err, the Queen City in North Carolina... apparently Cincinnati is also the Queen City.

Washington D.C. (From Bozeman - Seasonal)

D.C. appeared on the "Direct Flights the Missoula, Montana Should Add" list as well. Say what you will about Bozeman, but they provide more options to the East Coast compared to Missoula. (Missoula doesn't have any East Coast flights)

New York City (From Bozeman - Seasonal)

The East Coast tour continues to the Big Apple. Broadway, a ton of professional sports teams, monuments and more. It's got it all.

Newark, New Jersey (From Bozeman - Seasonal)

OK, who is flying to Newark? No offense intended but what's going on in Newark, New Jersey?
