It will definitely feel like a fall day. If we can keep the rain at bay, it should be a great day for a festival!

The Historical Museum at Fort Museum is celebrating autumn with their amazing, family-friendly Fall Harvest Festival. The event will take place this Sunday, October 1st, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.. This family-friendly event has enough activities stuffed into four hours to keep everyone entertained.

ALL ABOARD FOR CAKE!

As an added attraction this year, the museum is celebrating the 100th birthday of their Willamette #7! This locomotive was originally used by the Western Lumber Company of Milltown, Montana. Enjoy some train birthday cake and hear a short presentation on the history of the train at 1:00.

A HARVEST OF FUN ACTIVITIES

Fall Harvest fun includes:

>Trying your hand at the old-fashioned cider press.

>Visiting the Hayes Homestead Cabin to learn how early settlers prepared for winter.

>Tours of historic buildings, like the Sliderock Lookout and the Grant Creek Schoolhouse.

>Steam-powered sawmill demonstrations.

>Tables and activities for local non-profits and organizations.

>Lunch available from the local food trucks.

>Mini horses.

>Fall-themed crafts and activities.

YOUR CASH OR CANNED FOOD ADMISSION DONATIONS APPRECIATED

In lieu of charging admission for the event, the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will be accepting donations for the benefit of the Friends of the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula. The Friends of the Historical Museum raises funds for educational programs and preservation projects at the Historical Museum. Donations of canned food for the Missoula Food Bank will also be accepted.

Answer the call of fall, Missoula, and have a great time at the fort Sunday.
