Visit These 7 Historic Mansions of Montana
When you live on the East Coast you're surrounded by history. You don't have to travel far to find places on the National Register of Historic Places. Montana is a bit different.
History is the rings on Mount Jumbo in Missoula where the shore of Lake Missoula used to be. History is 'Gus' the world's tallest larch tree, a tree is estimated to be 1,000 years old. But Montana still has some old buildings and houses that are fascinating and worth a visit.
If you're looking for places to stop on a Montana road trip or something to do on a day trip around Montana, try visiting one of Montana's historic mansions. Many of them have open or guided tours, and if you time your visit, you may even catch an event. The Daly Mansion in Hamilton hosts the Bitterroot Celtic Games every summer and the Moss Mansion in Billings often hosts murder mystery dinners and 'Brew-seum' events.
