Big Sky Conference Logos Ranked From Worst to Best

I ranked the Big Sky Conference logos last year on The Daily Drive with Ace Sauerwein. It was a solo project, and since Sacramento State departed and Southern Utah and Utah Tech joined, we had to update it.

This time around, I called upon Griz Men's Basketball SID Jackson Wagner, a frequent guest on my show, to collaborate on the Big Sky Conference logos.

This is what we came up with.

Cal Poly Mustangs

Both of us thought this was as boring as it gets. A plain 'CP'. Blah.

Idaho Vandals

I was indifferent to the logo, but Jackson was vehemently against Idaho. It's just an I, with Vandals written across the front, he said. Jackson isn't a fan when you have to write out your school name.

Utah Tech Trailblazers

We gave Utah Tech a slight advantage over Cal Poly and Idaho because of the Utah state outline inside the 'U.' That's a nice touch, but outside of that, it's just a "UT."

Weber State Wildcats

Now we get into the run of animal head logos. Weber State is the worst of them simply because it has "Weber State" written out.

Northern Colorado Bears

Jackson was a bigger fan of the UNC bear than I was. I think he looks a little bloated around the jowls, so I wanted some of the other animal head logos ahead of this goober.

Montana Grizzlies

Yes, we have the Griz at #8. We think the Griz script is fine, but we have better logos that should serve as the primary logo (slobbering bear or charging bear).

Idaho State Bengals

Oh look, another animal head.

Montana State Bobcats

Montana State's rebrand was definitely an upgrade, and the Bobcat looks crisp. It's got the 'C' formed in the cat's mouth, but MSU is like Montana: They have a much better logo in the electrified Bobcat from back in the day.

Portland State Vikings

We like the shield. Jackson would've had it lower, but I'm a fan of the Portland State logo.

UC Davis Aggies

UC Davis may have been our biggest difference. I really like the Aggies logo. I like featuring the 'A' for a prominent A-gricultural school. It has an old-school look to it, too, that I enjoy.

Southern Utah Thunderbirds

This is the best animal head logo, in our humble opinion. The lightning bolt adds so much. Plus, that's one mean-looking bird! For the record: Jackson had SUU 2nd, and the next school 3rd...
