It has been quite some time since I sat down at a card table. I can remember the late nights at the Oxford Saloon, playing $.25 antes and $3 max raise. It was a cheap game to play long enough for the house to award you with a free breakfast for playing until 4am. Sometimes that FREE breakfast cost me over $100.

The Oxford game was different from the other poker games in Missoula. The Ox's table was the dealer's choice in the game. The choices were far more complicated than just a simple game of Texas Hold'em. They had old-west-style poker games to choose from. Games like 3 card stud, 7 card split, or the old school 5 card draw. I quickly learned that being good at poker is more than just knowing how to play Texas Hold'em.
