Kelly Clarkson and Kurt Russell Explain Why Montana Is So Special
I know I’m a bit behind on this one.
Kurt Russell appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show (back in March) to promote his new Taylor Sheridan TV series "The Madison." However, it did not take very long before the discussion transitioned out of Hollywood and into something more real.
Montana.
Kelly Clarkson, a ranch owner in Montana, discussed her favorite spot at the ranch. She stated she will drive her ATV down by the creek, pull over, and simply listen to the creek flow for hours. Kurt then smiled and said he knew exactly where she was coming from, and that is the only time he can turn his mind completely off.

Kelly chuckled as Kurt described his wife, Goldie Hawn, singing to their cows. The cows walk over whenever she begins singing. The horses, on the other hand, do not appear to care for the singing; they instead want to see if she is bringing treats.
You cannot make up conversations such as these. These conversations don’t sound like actors promoting a television show. They sound like individuals who truly appreciate spending time in Montana.

Why Montana has another “moment”
Regardless of whether you like or dislike Taylor Sheridan’s shows, there is no question he has created an awareness of Montana through millions of people around the world. Yellowstone made the state of Montana a bucket list destination. 1923 continued that trend. The Madison is now showing another aspect of Big Sky Country. Kelly even expressed that she felt similar to the storyline of the Madison since she knows what it feels like to have purchased your dream house in Montana. Yet find yourself too busy managing it to allow yourself the chance to really enjoy it.

As more and more people become aware of Montana, they begin to either want to purchase property within the state, vacation within the state, or relocate to the state. As we have said in the past, this has been good for both tourism and several of the local business owners. But it has also produced congested trailheads, crazy traffic, significantly increased home values within the state, and lots of people talking about how fast the communities of Montana are changing.
Hearing Kelly Clarkson and Kurt Russell discuss Montana was not concerning high-end houses or celebrity status. It was discussing sitting by a creek, taking in some peaceful quietness, and yes, singing to the cows.
Maybe this is why Taylor Sheridan’s television programs are successful.
They’re not marketing Montana.
They’re marketing the feelings you receive while fortunate enough to be able to spend time in Montana.
