Insurance Commissioner Sends Staff To Missoula After Windstorm [YouTube]
Experts from the office of Montana Insurance Commissioner Monica Lindeen will be in Missoula on Wednesday to offer free, one-on-one help for area residents struggling with insurance problems, scams or other issues related to the major wind storm in early August.
Chief Counsel Jesse Laslovich said the commissioner's office regularly sends out experts to assist those who have suffered severe weather damage.
The August 10 storm damaged buildings and automobiles, downed trees and power lines and produced winds strong enough to knock out power to nearly 18,000 residents.
"The purpose of us traveling to Missoula is to sit down one-on-one with folks to talk about their insurance needs, if they're having problems with a particular insurance company, then we can try to help," Laslovich said. "If they're having problems with somebody who is performing work on their home that is not satisfactory, or is affecting their insurance, all of those situations we can help with."
Property and casualty specialists will be on hand to meet one-on-one with homeowners who need assistance. Laslovich said forms will be available to fill out and receive personal attention.
The presentations will be short. Most of the time allotted is for one-on-one sessions with experts. 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m at Guest House Inn & Suites, 3803 Brooks St.
Attendees with insurance or repair issues are encouraged to bring any paperwork relevant to their case, including their insurance policy, and receipts from repairs, etc.
